Pressure casting for short, is a kind of molten alloy into the pressure chamber, high-speed filling steel mold cavity, and make the alloy liquid under pressure solidification and forming casting method. The main features of die-casting, which differ from other casting methods, are high pressure and high speed.
Metal liquid is under pressure to fill the cavity, and at higher pressure crystallization solidification, the common pressure is 15-100mpa.
The molten metal is a high speed filling cavity, usually at 10-50 m/s, some can also exceed 80 m/s, (through the internal gate into the cavity of the line speed-gate speed), so the metal liquid filling time is very short, about 0.01-0.2 seconds (depending on the size of the casting and different) can be filled with the cavity.
Die casting is a precision casting method, die-casting and casting die castings of the size of the tolerance is very small, the surface precision is very high, in most cases, die casting without need of turning processing can be assembled applications, threaded parts can be directly cast. From the general camera parts, typewriter pieces, electronic computing devices and decorations and other small parts, as well as automobiles, locomotives, aircraft and other means of transport, the complex parts are mostly made by die-casting method.
